Penrhosgarnedd 1 – Bethel 5
Scorers: Iwan (2), Shaun (2), Gruff
Due to illness of two of the players and an injury (get well soon Ben) Bethel had to reorganise. One game had already been played on the field during the morning and the poor weather during the week meant that there were layers of mud in both penalty areas. Despite the conditions Bethel continued to play the passing game and used both flanks to good effect, but when the ball reached the box Bethel couldn’t convert the possession into goals and the ball got stuck in the mud several times. At last, following perseverance, the first goal came from Iwan following good play from Shaun. Soon afterwards the second came with Shaun scoring following a good pass from Gethin. 2-0 HT.
Penrhos started stongly in the second half a when Bethel failed to clear following a free-kick, Penrhos reacted to make it 2-1. Slowly Bethel regained the ascendency and 3 goals came in the final quarter as Penrhos tiered with Gruff scoring after a pass from Hari, and then Aaron created a goal for Iwan and then for Shaun.
An excellent performance by Bethel considering the conditions. Well done Bethel.
Man of the match this week following tireless work in difficult conditions in the centre of midfield both defensively and attack wise was Getnin Bryn.

Nantlle Vale 1 – Bethel 6
Scorers: Aaron (3), Iwan (2), Gruff
The first game back after the Christmas break and another good performance from Bethel. Both teams created early chances with good passing and movement, but it was Bethel who went in front following a pass through the defence for Iwan to run onto and score. The second came from Lee, the Bethel goal keeper, throwing the ball out for Dion to carry the ball through the midfield before releasing Gruff to score. Dion was the creator again for the third as his shot was palmed away by the Nantlle keeper and Aaron was on hand to score. 3-0 HT.
Three further goals followed during the second half with Aaron scoring after a pass from Shaun and then scoring his hat-trick following a cross from Ben, before Iwan scored a good goal created by Shaun. Bethel conceded a late goal following a good freekick by Nantlle.

Bethel 14 - Menai Bridge Tigers 0
Scorers: Aaron (6), Shaun (3), Iwan (2), Siôn, OG (2)
It was a relief to see a dry morning following a stormy week. In our last game until after Christmas Bethel played excellently with great passing throughput the team. Bethel started on fire and went ahead after only 2 minutes after a surging run by Jack down the left that was finished neatly at the near post by Aaron. Soon afterwards Shaun made it two and it was three after only 7 minutes when the Menai Bridge defender unfortunately turned the ball into his own net following good play by Iwan. Bethel continued to score regularly and it was 9-0 at half time following further goals from Aaron (3) and Iwan (2) and 1 own goal. The great link up play that led to many of the goals was a joy to see.
In the second half Bethel continued to dominate and further goals came from Aaron (2), Shaun (2) and Sion and it was once again great to see the excellent build up play that led to the goals. Man of the match this week was Dion following his best performance in a Bethel shirt who dominated the midfield.

North Wales Coast Cup
Llanrwst 2 - Bethel 3
Scorers: Shaun (2), Iwan
A highly competetive game with both sides creating several chances in the first twenty minutes. Bethel managed to keep the Llanrwst attacks at bay and Lee in the goal for Bethel commanded his box excellently. Bethel went ahead after 25 minutes following a pass into the box by Jack that was dummied by Gruff for Shaun to run onto and score. HT 1-0 to Bethel.
The second half was equally competitive with Llanrwst threatening on several occasions but the Bethel defence and Lee in goal weathered the storm. The second goal came from a corner that wasn't cleared by Llanrwst and Hari passed back to Gethin Bryn who crossed for Shaun to net a powerful header. Llanrwst continued to attack and with less than 10 minutes remaining Bethel conceded a penalty which Aron Hughes netted for Llanrwst. After a nervous period Sion collected the ball in midfield and played a sensational box into the box and Iwan pounced on the loose ball to score. 3-1 to Bethel. There was more to come as Aron scored a good goal for Llanrwst but Bethel managed to hold on to the end of the match.

Bethel 3 - Bontnewydd 2
Scorers: Aaron 2, Osian
It was a sunny morning with hardly a breeze and very warm. A very competitive game and the most difficult opponents Bethel have faced this season. Bethel started strongly and pushed Bont into their own half for long periods and the first goal game following a pass out of defence by Ifan to Sion on the edge of the box. Sion passed to Osian in the penalty area who hit a firm shot past the goalkeeper. Bont then came back into the game and created a great chance down the right but Lee in the Bethel goal saved well. A few minutes later Bont had a similar chance when the ball was lifted over the Bethel defence and this time Bont made no mistake. HT 1-1
Bethel started the second half strongly and went ahead following a great moved when Gethin Parry passed to Gethin Bryn on the right who crossed into the box for Aaron to net spectacularly. Once again Bont came back and once again brought the scores level. Bethel showed great character and battled to the end and got their reward when a great cross from Iwan found Aaron to net the winner.
A well deserved result against a talented and competitive team. Man of the match this week for his solid display in the centre of the defence was Ifan.

Bethel 4 - Mynydd Deiniolen 1
Scorers: Dion, Gruff, Gethin Bryn, Aaron
The sun was out, but the wind was strong. Bethel played against the wind during the first half and for long periods Bethel were unable to break clear from their own half, but despite this managed to create several good chances. The first goal came following excellent work down the left by Gruff to release Dion who ran strongly into the box before firing into the corner of the opposition net. Bethel could have extended the lead but the Mynydd Deiniolen defence came to the rescue several times. 1-0 half time.
Bethel started the second half on fire and following perseverance Gruff won the ball on the edge of the box and fired the ball over the goal keeper's head into the net. Gruff was causing the opposition all sorts of problems on the left and minutes later he ran clear into the opponents area and although his shot was well saved by the goal keeper, Gethin Bryn was on hand to follow up and score. Soon afterwards the opposition got back into the match following a ball over the Bethel defence and the Mynydd Deiniolen striker out sprinted the defence before lifting the ball over the keeper. The final goal came when Sion won the ball on the edge of the Bethel defence, release Dion in midfield who passed perfectly for Aaron to run onto and round the keeper to score.
Another highly professional performance with once again many individuals shining, but the man of the match on this occasion was Gruff for his excellent work on the left and for creating two goals and scoring another. Well done Gruff.

Bethel 7 - Penrhosgarnedd 1
Scorers: Shaun Owen (2), Gethin Bryn (2), Aaron, Dion, Ben
The second game of the season on a wet and damp day and a slippery pitch. Bethel started well and went ahead after only 3 minutes when Shaun Owen scored following a great pass from Iwan. The same combination worked again with Iwan passing for Shaun to score the second. There was some great interplay among the team with good passing and movement and Bethel created several changes only to be denied by some good saves by the Penrhos keeper. Half time 2-0.
At the beginning of the second half Aaron scored following a pass from Jack to make it 3-0. From the restart Penrhos gained a goal back to make it 3-1. This inspired the team and Gethin Bryn scored 2 great goals and then some good work from Gruff created a goal for Dion and the final goal came following an excellent solo effort by Ben to make the score 7-1.
On the whole it was a great effort from the whole squad from the goal keeper, through the defence, midfield and forwards. Man of the match this week, and there were several star performances, was Shaun Owen for his 2 goals and all round effort.
Well done lads, keep at it!

Nantlle Vale 0 - Bethel 4
Scorers: Shaun Owen (2), Aaron, Sion Bullock
Bethel started slowly and for the first 10 minutes Nantle were the better side but Bethel's defence held out. Bethel then came more into the game and started to control the midfield and created several chances but were thwarted by the defence and several good saves from the Nantlle goalkeeper. The first goal came from a great cross from Gethin Bryn which was headed firmly into the net from Shaun Owen. 1-0 at half time.
Bethel dominated the second half and the second goal came from a good move which was finished when Ben threaded the ball through the defence for Aaron to run onto and slip the ball past the goalkeeper. The third came following good work from Shaun who released Iwan down the right and when his cross reached the 6 yard box, Sion Bullock made no mistake. Bethel scored the 4th from a free kick awarded for a foul on Jack on the edge of the box following a great run. Dion took the free kick who passed back to Shaun to lift the goal over the wall and into the top corner of the net.
A great performance from all players with many of them shining but the man of the match for his solid defensive and creative play in the midfield was Ben.
